Hemingways River Camp

Hemingways River Camp is on the banks of the Njageteck River in the Masai Mara, surrounded by 70 acres of private land between the Olare Motorogi and Mara North Conservancies, giving guests peace and privacy in an area of excellent wildlife habitat.

Accommodation & Facilities
Hemingways River Camp has just eight tents, one of which has two bedrooms for a family, and a further two bedroomed suite with its own lounge, which can be taken exclusively by a family or two couples with meals served here if guests choose. The mess tent has a beautifully furnished lounge with views out over the surrounding plains and bush, a lovely big dining table, and a bar. Many meals are eaten outside under the vast Kenyan skies, and picnics are often arranged.

Wildlife & Activities
The nearby Ngoyanai springs are a permanent water source, which attract numerous animals to the camp’s environs, including a resident pride of lion, which often hunt close to the camp. The prolific resident wildlife includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and big herds of wildebeest. Guests can explore the Mara North private conservancy on day and night drives and walking safaris. Meals are often arranged in the bush, and bird-watching in the area is excellent. The guides can arrange a visit to a local Masai village, and scenic flights and hot air ballooning are also on offer, although please note that they must be booked and paid for in advance.
