Shawa Luangwa Camp
Shawa Luangwa Camp has a lovely setting on the eastern bank of the Luangwa River on a site chosen by Jacob Shawa, a highly experienced guide and part-owner of the camp. Jacob has been guiding in the Zambian wilderness for many years, and the camp has wonderful views across the floodplain into South Luangwa National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
Shawa Luangwa Camp has just five safari tents of a unique design. Built on stilts, the tents have sides which can be raised to allow the views in. The tents have a bath on the deck in the bedroom, an outside shower, and a flush loo. One tent has two bedrooms for a family. The camp has a mess tent with a dining room, lounge and bar, and a lovely pool overlooking the floodplain.
Wildlife & Activities
Shawa Luangwa Camp offers day and night wildlife drives in electric Land Cruisers, which are charged with solar power. The wildlife in South Luangwa National Park is excellent, and lion, leopard, wild dog, hyena, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, hippo and crocodile are seen regularly. Walking safaris are a fantastic way to see the Luangwa valley in more intimate detail.
