Adélie Freiss
Originally from the East of France, I moved to Scotland in 2016 to study at the University of Edinburgh and spent my year abroad in Saint Petersburg. My love for travel started early – growing up in a family of five, we spent summers exploring different countries with no fixed itinerary. Our parents would hand us guidebooks before each trip, and once we arrived, we would vote as a family on where to go, what to see, and which adventures to go on.
My first big trips were in Togo, Benin, Senegal and Morocco, and with my sister now living in the Democratic Republic of Congo, my connection to the continent has only grown stronger. I’ve been lucky enough to see incredible wildlife while travelling, but one of my fondest memories is watching giraffes cross the road in front of our car – moving so fast yet seeming to glide in slow motion. I have yet to see any of the big cats, and it is high up on my list!
When I’m not planning my next adventure, you’ll find me on the dance floor as I have a passion for Latin dances or simply hitting the gym or reading a good book. I’m really excited to be working the Aardvark Safaris team and expand my knowledge of all things Africa while helping others experience its beauty and wildlife.
