Time + Tide Chongwe House
Chongwe House is about 1km upstream from Chongwe Camp, not far from the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. The house has wonderful views of the Muchinga Mountains to the north. Across the Chongwe River is the Lower Zambezi National Park which is a pristine and very beautiful expanse of wilderness with a wide variety of terrain and excellent wildlife populations.
Accommodation & Facilities
Chongwe House is well positioned with river frontage and accommodates eight guests in four en-suite bedrooms, two downstairs and two on the first floor, with a large open plan sitting room and dining room. There is a large deck in front of the house with a swimming pool and private dining. The permanent water hole in front of the house provides fantastic wildlife viewing from either the sundeck or the private pool. The layout of the house makes it ideal for families or groups of friends travelling together, and guests have their own vehicle and safari guide for wildlife viewing activities.
Wildlife & Activities
Safari activities at Chongwe House include private day and night wildlife drives, walking safaris, canoeing, fishing, and boat trips. Guests are likely to see buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, crocodile, and kudu, along with plenty more species. Birding is also good in the Lower Zambezi with such a variety of habitats, and the Zambezi Rivers offers excellent fishing for tiger fish and bream.
