Lemala Wildwaters Lodge
Wildwaters Lodge has a spectacular setting on a private island in the middle of the River Nile in Uganda. Just a few miles downstream from Jinja and Lake Victoria, the six hectare Kalagala Island is clothed in dense forest and has rapids either side of it. Access to the lodge is solely by boat, which is a really fun way to arrive.
Accommodation & Facilities
Wildwaters has ten rooms, one of which is for a family, built on raised wooden floors. The rooms have glass front windows, big bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms with free standing baths and showers, and verandahs with day beds. The rooms are connected to the main lodge by raised walkways, and the restaurant, bar and library all have riverside locations. The lodge has a lovely pool cantilevered out over the river, and a spa.
Activities on offer near Wildwaters include exciting white water rafting on the Nile, bungee jumps, fishing, boat trips, horse riding, kayaking, and visits to local communities. Bird watching in the area is excellent, and otters and monitor lizards are often spotted too.
