Saruni Mara
Saruni Mara Camp is in the private Mara North Conservancy bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. It is a small camp with a beautiful setting in its ‘secret valley’ and views across the Masai plains.
Accommodation & Facilities
Saruni Mara has six en-suite canvas sided cottages under thatched roofs including a spacious two bedroom family room, and a private family villa, all of which enjoy great scenery from their private verandahs. Each room is beautifully furnished with colonial style antiques and African art. The large thatched main lodge has a dining room, lounge and bar, and meals can often be enjoyed outdoors.
Wildlife & Activities
Wildlife drives with experienced guides in open safari vehicles allow Saruni Mara Camp guests to view the incredible wildlife for which the Masai Mara is renowned. Between July and October huge herds of wildebeest and zebra migrating from the adjoining Serengeti swell the substantial numbers of resident animals, creating one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Thanks to the plentiful supply of prey, predators such as crocodile, lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah are found in large numbers in the Masai Mara. Walking safaris with Masai guides offer a different perspective of the incredible wildlife area. Visits to local villages can also be arranged.
