Tanda Tula
Tanda Tula Safari Camp is on the Western border of Kruger National Park in South Africa, in the 20,000 acre private Timbavati Reserve. The reserve shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park allowing the wildlife free range and ensuring guests the opportunity to view the greatest diversity of wildlife that Africa has to offer. Children eight years and over are welcome at Tanda Tula.
Accommodation & Facilities
This owner-run tented camp has 12 large and luxurious ‘East African’ tents with en-suite bathrooms and a timbered deck overlooking lush riverine vegetation. There are no family tents as such but a third bed can be added to accommodate a child in each tent. There is a lounge and dining area as well as a pool which has shallow steps at one end. Meals are often taken under the stars and riverbed picnics are particularly enjoyable. You may also choose to spend a night at the elevated Machaton Hide, overlooking the Machaton riverbed, equipped with a wildlife viewing spotlight and packed picnic dinner, the ultimate bush experience.
Eating & Sleeping
It is possible to arrange for children to have an early supper if they wish to do so.
Wildlife & Activities
Timbavati is home to a variety of wildlife including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino, as well as wild dog and numerous bird species. Wildlife is mostly viewed from open vehicles, and also on foot with an armed ranger, and the skilled guides here are among the best. Two night walking safaris in the company of a ranger and tracker can be arranged and tailored to suit specific wishes.
