Nxamaseri Island Lodge
Nxamaseri Island Lodge is set on a private island in the Okavango Panhandle, where the permanent channels of the Okavango River flow toward the Okavango Delta. Surrounded by deep lagoons and papyrus-lined channels, the region supports aquatic wildlife, diverse birdlife and offers excellent seasonal fishing.
Accommodation & Facilities
Nxamseri Island Lodge has eight chalets with en-suite bathrooms built on raised platforms in the riverine forest. Wooden walkways connect the rooms to the main lodge, which has indoor and outdoor dining areas, a bar, a secluded swimming pool, a shop, and a big viewing deck overlooking the water. A campfire provides a space to gather in the evenings.
Wildlife & Activities
Nxamaseri offers a range of water-based activities, including boat and mokoro excursions, birdwatching, and seasonal fishing for tigerfish and bream. The lodge is close to the Tsodilo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient San rock art, and a sleep-out experience in traditionally designed Pods. The surrounding wetlands support a high concentration of bird species, including Pel’s fishing owl and African skimmers.
