Roça Sundy
Roça Sundy is a boutique hotel on the lush tropical island of Principe in the Gulf of Guinea. The hotel is on an old cacao plantation, and consists of two restored plantation houses and a number of other historic buildings. The hotel shares the land and working farm buildings with the local people who still live and work on this unique plantation.
Accommodation and Facilities
Roca Sundy has just 15 air-conditioned rooms with nine in the Cacao House and six in the Eclipse House. Those in the Eclipse House have a traditional feel to the decor, while the Cacao House brings a more contemporary atmosphere to the hotel. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms with inside showers, and some have balconies with forest views. The hotel has a lounge and bar, and meals are served in the dining room and on the large verandah.
Experiences and Activities
Walks in the forest, tours of the plantation, visits to local communities, excellent bird watching, and stunning stargazing are all possible during a stay at Roca Sundy.
