Olmara Camp

Olmara Camp has a peaceful setting on the eastern plains of the Serengeti, a remote and wildlife-rich pocket at the crossroads of the grass plains and the woodlands. Olmara is the Maasai name for the cheetah, which can often be seen here.

Accommodation & Facilities
Olmara Camp has eight safari tents of which three have ‘Stargazer’ roofs, that can open to the stars, and two have two bedrooms for families. The tents have lounges with comfortable couches and coffee table, dressing area, king-size bed, and soft carpets laid over teak floors. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, double hand basins, and a flushing loo. The camp has a large mess tent with dining room, bar and lounge, and a campfire outside.

Wildlife & Activities
Olmara offers wildlife drives in open safari vehicles, walking safaris, star-gazing beds, fly-camping, bush meals, and balloon flights. In addition to cheetah, guests can see lion and plenty of hyena, and among the kopjes, leopard, serval and caracals. This part of the Serengeti is one of the best places in the world to photograph big cats. The permanent water attracts plenty of herbivores including elephant, giraffe, zebra, warthog, wildebeest, topi, kongoni, and large numbers of birds.
