Mana River Camp

Mana River Camp is a characterful camp with a shaded setting on the banks of the Zambezi River between this enormous perennial river and a much-visited pan, which is regularly enjoyed by elephants for mud bathing. This is a seasonal camp which is dismantled at the end of each season, before the rains begin, giving it the feeling of real bush camping. The camp is unfenced, and wildlife often wanders through, especially elephants, who seem to want to introduce themselves to guests.

Accommodation & Facilities
Mana River Camp has six safari tents made from canvas and gauze, all with views of the Zambezi River, a verandah and a folding chair, and an en-suite bathroom with a flush loo, a shower, heated with chip boilers. The camp has a lovely mess consisting of two tents with a dining table, armchairs and sofas, and a bar.  Meals are often served outside under the shade of the mahogany and winter-thorn trees or by lit lanterns hanging from branches, and drinks are enjoyed around the campfire.

Wildlife & Activties
Mana Pools has a superb population of wildlife, including lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, spotted hyena, wild dog, eland, kudu, hippo, and crocodile. Guests can enjoy morning and late afternoon wildlife drives, morning canoeing safaris, and walking safaris with experienced Zimbabwean guides who are highly regarded due to Zimbabwe’s stringent training and examination procedure, bird watching, and catch-and-release shoreline fishing (equipment required). Early notification is required for canoeing arrangements to avoid disappointment.
