Kulu Ora
Kulu Ora is beautiful safari lodge set beside a remote stretch of the Victoria Nile in Murchison Falls National Park in northwest Uganda. The lodge is deep inside a very private and peaceful low-impact zone of the Park and has almost exclusive access to a large expanse of spectacular wilderness.
Accommodation & Facilities
Kulu Ora has 10 huge safari tents well spread out either side of the main lodge, all on the banks of the Victoria Nile. The tents have en-suite bathrooms with beautiful copper bathtubs, big showers, sofas, a desk, ceiling fans, and a private deck with a plunge pool and sun loungers. One tent has two en-suite bedrooms and a shared deck, making it ideal for families with older children or friends. The décor is a muted, nature-inspired palette, and the main lodge has a big lounge with a beautiful bar, a dining room, an outside sitting and dining deck with views over the river, and a lovely shop. Kulu Ora has a big pool and a thatched pool house with a bar, and plenty of sun loungers, all with a superb river-side setting.
Wildlife & Activities
Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest park and has an excellent wildlife population, including elephant, lion, Nubian giraffe, buffalo, leopard, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi, crocodile, and hippo, and an amazing variety of birds. It is known to be one of the best places to see the extraordinary shoebill during a boat cruise on the Nile Delta on Lake Albert. Activities on offer at Kulu Ora revolve around exploring the Low Use Zone, which is an untouched and wildlife-rich environment, on day and night wildlife drives and walking safaris, and enjoying birdwatching on the savannah and beside the Nile. Guests can also enjoy fishing, hiking, and boat cruises to the base of Murchison Falls or into the Nile Delta on Lake Albert, one of the best places in Uganda for seeing a shoebill.
