Baines’ River Camp
Baines’ River Camp has a magnificent riverfront setting on the Zambezi River just to the west of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Hidden away in a riverine forest, the camp has a well shaded location.
Accommodation & Facilities
Baines’ River Camp has eight chalets and one family cottage with two bedrooms. The spacious and light rooms are all air-conditioned, and have ceiling fans, dressing space, ensuite bathrooms, and easy chairs. A shaded verandah at the front is a great place from which to watch the river flow by, and to see the wildlife and birdlife that often visits the lodge grounds. The main building houses a dining room, a bar, and plenty of peaceful seating spots. Outside, there is a pool overlooking the river, and a terrace where meals are also often eaten.
Wildlife and Activities
The wildlife in the Lower Zambezi is excellent and includes lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, kudu, waterbuck, impala, and warthog. Baines’ River Camp has a team of excellent guides, and offers day and night drives, walking safaris, boat and canoe safaris and fishing.
