Lemala Osonjoi Lodge

Lemala Osonjoi has a stunning setting nearly 8,000 feet up on the edge of the northeast side of Tanzania’s astonishing Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge is close to one of just two descent roads into the Crater, and offers very easy access to the huge caldera.

Accommodation & Facilities
Lemala Osonjoi has 20 large modern rooms spaced well apart and hidden away in the trees. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms, dressing rooms, huge windows, a day bed, and a wood burning stove to take the edge off the chill of highland nights. The main lodge has a dining room, lounge, and bar with a large fireplace, and a heated indoor swimming pool which sits behind floor-to-ceiling windows with glorious views over this picturesque wildlife territory. The lodge also has a spa.

Wildlife & Activities
The world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater is home to around 20,000 large mammals including black rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, spotted hyena and leopard. Day time wildlife drives into this spectacular caldera are often one of the biggest highlights of any safari in Tanzania, and Lemala Osonjoi offers daytime drives with a three course lunch in a private setting on the Crater floor. The breadth of habitats is wonderful, with grass plains, acacia woodland, fever tree forests, fresh-water lakes and swamps, and a soda lake, and it provides beautiful scenery, fantastic wildlife sightings and excellent bird watching.
