Maxa Camp

Maxa Camp has a beautiful setting beside a hippo-filled lagoon under a canopy of mature ebony trees, in the north-eastern reaches of the Okavango Delta at the source of the Selinda Spillway. The camp is in an ecologically rich region of seasonal floodplains and mixed habitats, first revealed from the air on the thrilling helicopter flight into camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
Maxa Camp has just five safari tents, one of which has two bedrooms, positioned for privacy and views of the surrounding floodplains. The tents have indoor and outdoor en-suite bathrooms, sofas, and shaded verandahs. The communal space of the camp is centred around two open plan mess tents with a dining table, lounge and bar, and picnic-style seating outside for al fresco dining beneath the stars. The camp has a treehouse viewing deck and a campfire, and a termite mound oven for freshly baked bread and pastries.

Wildlife & Activities
Days at Maxa involve a mix of land and water-based activities led by expert guides. Guests can enjoy mokoro trips, walking safaris, and both day and night drives, all offering the chance to encounter the region’s varied wildlife and track its seasonal changes. Cultural experiences run side by side with the Bukhakhwe community provide insights into local heritage and the ancient human connection to this landscape.
