Sarara Wilderness
Sarara Wilderness is a small exclusive tented camp in a remote part of the Samburu Ecosystem, which is home to large amounts of iconic wildlife and the semi-nomadic Samburu people.
Accommodation & Facilities
Sarara Wilderness is set up to suit each booking and can host from two to twelve guests at a time. The traditional safari tents have en-suite bathrooms, bucket showers, flush loos, charging points, and a verandah. The camp has a lovely mess tent with dining table, sofas and a bar. Meals are often eaten outside, and drinks are enjoyed around the campfire. The camp has a small portable plunge pool for hotter times of year.
Experiences & Activities
Sarara Wilderness offers wildlife drives in Samburu National Reserve, and allows guests to tailor their adventures and see ancient elephant corridors, guided by the deep knowledge of Samburu hosts, who understand the landscape, seasons, and the region’s incredible wildlife. There is excellent birding with more than 365 recorded, manyatta (village visits), bush meals, sundowners, stargazing, and fireside stories. Beading with Samburu ladies, creating a piece with the local Blacksmith, massage, and helicopter excursions can be arranged for an additional cost.
