Saudade

Set along the northern shoreline of Vilanculos, Saudade is a small, family-owned and run boutique hotel, which acts as a peaceful base from which to explore Mozambique’s coast and offshore islands.

Accommodation & Facilities
Saudade is made up of just six rooms, including a honeymoon suite, and a ‘bunk room’ which is excellent for families. The gardens are green and densely planted, home to a variety of birdlife, and you may even spot a bushbaby in the evening. A swimming pool overlooks the beach, and there are several outdoor dining areas set within the gardens, as well as a pétanque court. Meals are a highlight, featuring locally sourced seafood and produce, with many dishes cooked over the braai and served in a relaxed, al fresco setting.

Experience & Activities
A range of activities are available from the hotel, these include kayaking stand-up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and scuba diving, with PADI-certified instructors. Guests can enjoy fishing on charters, swim with horses in the sea, or take a sunset cruise on a traditional Dhow. Take a day trip to the Bazaruto Archipelago, with opportunities to snorkel, swim, and have a picnic on Paradise Island. The town of Vilanculos is just 20 minutes away, so guests can also experience tours of the local food market.
