The River Station

The River Station is a lovely safari lodge perched on a headland above the Kazinga Channel in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The wide Kazinga Channel connects Lake George with Lake Edward in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, and guests arrive at the lodge by motorboat. The camp is one of just two in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve and offers guests almost-private access to this beautiful wildlife habitat.

Accommodation & Facilities
The River Station has ten beautifully appointed safari tents, one of which has two bedrooms for a family or friends. They all have en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, day beds on the big verandahs, and private plunge pools. The main lodge is beautifully positioned to give wraparound views of the Reserve and the Kazinga Channel, and allow guests to enjoy watching the prolific resident wildlife from the comfort of the wide verandah. The lounge and bar are elegantly decorated in muted watery hues and have plenty of big sofas and armchair. Dinner might be around a big table outside on the verandah or under the stars, and breakfast is often enjoyed in a beautiful setting out in the bush – the food is excellent wherever it’s served. The lodge also has a large swimming pool and a spa.

River Station guests are expertly guided on day and night wildlife drives and walking safaris, while exploring the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve and Queen Elizabeth National Park. They can visit the seven crater lakes, track chimpanzees, find a hyena den, follow lion cubs, and enjoy the reserve’s privacy in its low-impact zone.
