Voaara

Voaara is on the northwest coast of Sainte Marie Island on a stretch of white sand beach. Truly remote, the property is in 100 acres of beachfront and tropical forest, accessed by a one-hour boat ride from Sainte Marie Airport.

Accommodation & Facilities
Voaara has seven bungalows and one three-bedroom villa with thatched roofs, built from locally sourced materials. The rooms have Evening Breeze cooling over the beds, private terraces with ocean views and indoor/outdoor en-suite bathrooms. Voaara has a strong culinary focus, and the lodge has a variety of indoor and outdoor dining areas serving fresh, locally sourced food, and three bars in different locations. Meals and drinks can also be enjoyed on the beach. At the far end of the beach, the open-fronted spa cabins provide a space for massages.

Wildlife & Activities
Sainte Marie Island is home to endemic wildlife, including lemurs, chameleons, and plenty of birds. The surrounding ocean supports coral reefs, sea turtles, and seasonal humpback whale migrations from June to September. Activities include snorkelling, diving, kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding, and deep-sea fishing. On land activities include guided hikes, mountain biking, and cultural excursions.
