Rhino Sands

Rhino Sands is a lovely tented safari camp cleverly hidden amongst the tamboti and weeping boerbean trees beside the Msunduze River in Manyoni Private Game Reserve, offering guests a classic authentic safari in KwaZulu Natal. Manyoni was formed in 2004 to provide a sanctuary for black rhinos as part of the WWF Black Rhino Range Expansion Project.

Accommodation & Facilities
Rhino Sands has four beautiful big safari tents built on raised decks. The tents have gauze sides to allow the breeze the cool the interior, which can be closed for privacy or in cooler weather. They also have big bedrooms with armchairs and a desk, and an en-suite bathroom with inside and outside showers, a bath, and a plunge pool on the deck outside. The camp has a big mess tent with open sided lounge, bar and dining rooms, and is connected to the tents by raised walkways. Meals are often eaten outside too.

Wildlife & Activities
As well as being home to lion, buffalo, elephant, black and white rhino and leopard, the 23,000-hectare private reserve has re-introduced cheetahs and wild dogs. Day and night drives with excellent guides and walking safaris are good ways to explore the beautiful savannah in Manyoni, and guests are unlikely to see more than a handful of other vehicles here. It is also a wonderful reserve for birds and has plenty of magnificent trees.
