Morukuru River House

Morukuru River House is a beautiful exclusive use property located on a 3,500 hectare private reserve adjacent to Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa, and close to the Botswana border in malaria-free north-west South Africa.

Accommodation & Facilities
River House, as its name suggests, is positioned under shady tamboti trees on the banks of the Groot Marico River.  With three large en-suite bedrooms and a children’s room with bunk beds this is the perfect retreat for up to six adults and four children. The three bedrooms have air-conditioning, log fires for the winter and large tree-shaded decks.  The en-suite bathrooms have indoor and outdoor showers, twin basins and a free-standing bath. The house has excellent facilities, including indoor and outdoor dining areas, a sitting room with fireplace, a large deck and a heated infinity pool.

Wildlife & Activities
Morukuru River House activities are tailored to guests’ wishes, with a private guide and house team on hand to help get the most out of Madikwe. Activities include wildlife drives, bush walks, fishing, bird-watching and fun outdoor activities for children. The wildlife which can be seen during a stay here includes elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and many plains species.

Walking safaris: the minimum age is 16. Over 60s need a doctor’s health and fitness certificate.
