&Beyond Sandibe Under Canvas

Sandibe Under Canvas is a lovely tented camp set into shady forest beside a waterway on the Sandibe Private Concession in Botswana’s fabled Okavango Delta. The simplicity and location of the camp encourage a real connection between guests and the pristine wilderness.

Accommodation & Facilities
Sandibe Under Canvas consists of just three relatively simple safari tents accommodating only six guests. The tents have en-suite bathrooms with twin bucket showers, flush loos, comfortable chairs, and a shaded verandah. The camp has a mess tent with a lounge, dining table, bar, and a campfire outside to gather around for drinks. Meals are sometimes cooked on an open fire and are often served outside under the stars by the light of lanterns, or in the shade of a magnificent tree.

Wildlife & Activities
The Sandibe region is on an island between the Santantadibe and Gomoti Rivers, and the plains between the two are some of Botswana’s richest grazing land, which makes this area predator heaven and a thrilling country for wildlife enthusiasts. Lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, and cheetah all compete for prey, and elephant, buffalo, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck, red lechwe, puku, zebra and impala are among the herbivores that thrive here. Thanks to the variety of habitats, the bird population is also terrific. Shared day and night wildlife drives, walking safaris, birdwatching and stargazing are all great ways to experience this beautiful and peaceful corner of Botswana, and the guides are among Africa’s finest.
