Cardamom House

Set in a bright and wild garden on Kuruwitu beach, Vipingo, Cardamom House is the ultimate escape. Created by a Swahili architect to celebrate the beauty of the land and sea, the property has been carefully woven around existing trees and has unspoilt sea views.

Accommodation & Facilities

The house is made up of four villas, which can be booked individually, for exclusive use, or as individual rooms. Manda Toto, the main house, has two penthouses located on the first floor, each with a sea-facing master suite and a garden facing room. The rooms are inter-connected with a terraced lobby. There are three suites in The Tower villa and two in Villa Shela, all sea-facing, with access to independent barazzas offering space for privacy, sundowners, dining, and social gatherings. The beautiful sea-facing Villa Lula can be combined with Villa Shela to make a three-suite family villa or booked as a private suite.

Cardamom House features an infinity pool, private access to a secluded beach, a huge seafront garden, private barrazas for sundowners, meals, or sunrise yoga sessions and many hideaways to relax. There is a beautiful dining area, but you can also choose to eat on the from a private barraza, your verandah, on the beach, in the garden, or at the chefs table. The local fishermen regularly deliver their fresh catch so guests often eat seafood, but just tell the chef what you’d like and they will make it for you. All dietary requirements and anyone with food allergies are welcome.

Wildlife & Activities

At Cardamom House you can do as much or as little as you like. There is snorkelling gear, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaks which can be all used from the property straight on to the beach. Snorkelling and scuba diving, a safari day trip, dhow trips, kite surfing, a PGA rated golf course, dolphin watching, fishing, and horseback riding excursions can all be organized.
