Basecamp Wilderness

Basecamp Wilderness is a simple tented safari camp set on the rim of Saddle Valley in the north-east of the Mara Naboisho Conservancy.  With its secluded location, the camp provides exclusive wildlife viewing opportunities away from the busier areas of the Masai Mara with breath-taking views across the expansive African savannah.

Accommodation & Facilities
Basecamp Wilderness has five safari tents, each offering either a king-size bed or twin beds, and an en-suite bathroom with a traditional ‘bucket shower’. Privacy is key, with each tent set apart from the others and offering a private seating area, with spectacular views overlooking the Masai Mara. The camp’s communal areas include a cosy main lounge and dining space, as well as an outdoor seating area centred around a firepit.

Wildlife & Activities
Wildlife drives are usually in the early morning and late afternoon when most animals are more active. Guests may encounter lion, elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, wild dog, and birdwatching is also excellent. Additional activities include night drives, walking safaris, and hot air balloon safaris. The Young Explorers Club is perfect for children, offering educational and exciting safari experiences for the whole family. For a deeper cultural immersion, guests have the chance to visit a nearby Maasai village to observe traditional ceremonies and gain insight into the local Maasai culture.
