Mara Siana

Mara Siana is a small camp in the 24,000-acre Ripoi Conservancy, a stunning and largely unknown area between the Masai Mara National Reserve, Naboisho Conservancy, and the Loita Hills. The camp is 50% Masai and 50% female-owned and set into the edge of acacia woodland on the side of a quartzite hill, close to two waterholes.

Accommodation & Facilities
Mara Siana Camp has just seven canvas safari tents set under thatched roofs, two of which have two bedrooms and are perfect for families. The tents have en-suite bathrooms, large verandahs, power points, and beautiful far-reaching views across the plains. The main building is a large open plan structure also with a thatched roof, which has dining tables, a bar and lounge, with fireplaces at each end. One stroke of genius is a ‘breakfast bar’ next to the bar with a row of stools looking out over the frequently-visited waterhole.

Wildlife & Activities
Guests can experience excellent and undisturbed wildlife viewing during day and night wildlife drives, with thousands of resident wildebeest, large prides of lion, elephant, buffalo, eland, zebra, warthog, impala, and unbelievable numbers of giraffe. Wild dog, cheetah, striped hyena, and pangolin might also be seen. Just three safari camps share the conservancy, and activities are led by world-class guides with over 75 years of guiding and management experience. Jackson Looseyia, one of Africa’s finest guides of Big Cat Diary, and his old friends Salaash Morompi and Fred Ronko are the driving forces behind this wonderful camp. Other activities include bush walks, bush meals, village visits, and balloon safaris. Children can try spear throwing and archery, walking safaris, identifying bugs and dung with a magnifying glass, visiting local schools, looking after goats and cows with Maasai kids, and counting giraffes.
